Capital Region Higher Ed Alliance
college is a
brave choice.
The future belongs to the ones bold enough to seek it. Those with the courage to begin a journey of self-discovery and transformation. If you are ready to uncover the potential inside you and the possibilities around you, it’s time to explore higher education in the Capital Region.

Education’s
Undeniable
Impact.
Research from various organizations has demonstrated that higher education can make a big difference—not just for graduates but for society at large.
Achieving higher levels of education is directly correlated with higher earnings and lower unemployment rates.
Graduates with associate and bachelor’s degrees have been shown to be significantly more likely to say their job fits their talents and interests.
Overwhelming evidence shows that college education—at every level—is tied to economic mobility, health outcomes, and civic strength.
Higher educational achievement is consistently associated with longer life, lower rates of chronic disease, and greater access to health-promoting resources.
Testimonials
Graduates say college opened doors not just to better jobs but to lives they feel proud of.

“UAlbany shaped my growth as a future leader. I’ve found incredible support, opportunities, and experiences that have inspired me to pursue a Doctor of Public Health.”
– Cat A. ’25

“Having the opportunity to further my education at SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech has brought so many opportunities; from serving as president of the Agricultural Business Club and our chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association to working several internships on and off campus. I’ve been able to build my professional skills while earning dual bachelor’s degrees. I’m excited for the doors these achievements will open in agricultural communications and marketing. I encourage students to explore and embrace the experience and take every chance when it comes.”
– Paisley N. ’26

“The Russell Sage professors gave me an idea of what I was working towards in the long term, not just, ‘Oh, you’ll get this degree, and you’ll be in the hospital.’ It’s, ‘You’ll get this degree, and these are all the possible avenues for you that you could follow as a nurse.’ When I got the degree, it felt like all these doors opened up.”
– Cherfia I.C. ’24

“When I made the decision to attend Excelsior, I was juggling motherhood and survival. I was living paycheck to paycheck with limited career options and no clear path forward. Earning my associate degree in nursing was the catalyst that changed everything. Within four years, I went from earning $38,000 annually to a six-figure income and homeownership. … ROI? Hope restored, potential unlocked, and a chance to shape a new future.”
– Morgan M. ’12

“As a microbiology and molecular biosciences major, I was interested in a research- and internship-rich environment. My higher education journey led to a two-year internship with Eli Lilly and then onto a position with them following graduation.”
– Valerie C. ’25

“I officially graduated from Siena as a first-generation student with a degree in Communications Marketing and a concentration in International Business — and it truly means everything to me. I can confidently say it was worth every penny. As a first-gen student, I’m walking away with experience, connections, and clarity about what’s next.”
– Jefri C. ’25
